In reply to Lord Fishbottom. Did you ever figure out how to make it from .pkg to .app? I am trying to install el capitan onto macbook air 2013 but it only shows .pkg and if I plug it into my M1 macbook air it cannot change it to .app because el capitan is too old for M1 mac. The macbook air 2013 does support mac os big sur but which I do have a bootable usb of however it doesnt let me download it.

all this does is put an InstallOS.pkg on a usb stick. it isn’t bootable using these instructions.
