You can technically download the ISO file for any preview build of Windows 11<\/a> (such as build 26220.8138, 26300.8142, or 28020.1797) available in the Canary or other channels, including Dev, Beta, and Release Preview. You only need to use a third-party tool, such as “UUP Dump.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Although Microsoft makes the\u00a0Windows 11 ISO available for previews, allowing users to test the\u00a0clean installation<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0in-place upgrade<\/a> processes on virtual machines and spare computers, this isn’t<\/span>\u00a0always the case.<\/p>\n

UUP Dump is a tool that lets you create a custom Windows 11 ISO from any public preview. It is a script that downloads the latest builds from Microsoft servers and creates an unofficial ISO file you can use to install the operating system.<\/p>\n

In this guide<\/a>, I will walk you through the steps to use the UUP Dump tool to download the ISO file for any publicly available Windows 11 preview.<\/p>\n

Important:<\/strong> The recommended and supported method is to get Insider builds using Windows Update or download the official ISO files from the Microsoft site when available. Use these instructions at your own risk.<\/span><\/div>\n

Download any Windows 11 preview\u00a0ISO file using UUP Dump<\/h2>\n

To download the Windows 11 ISO file for any Insider Preview build (such as build 28020.1797), use these steps:<\/p>\n

    Open the UUP Dump<\/strong> page<\/a>.<\/p>\n

  2. \n

    Click the Downloads<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Select the operating system channel or release (25H2, 26H2, or 26H1) from the “Windows 11”<\/strong> menu.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Select the “Windows 11 Insider Preview”<\/strong> to download the latest (x64)<\/strong> ISO file \u2013 for example, build 26220.8138 <\/strong>in the Canary Channel and 26300.8142 and 26220.8062 in the Dev and Beta Channels.<\/p>\n

    Use the “Language” drop-down menu to select the language for the installation.<\/p>\n

    Click the Next<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Select the editions to include in the Windows 11 ISO file.<\/p>\n

    Select the “Download and convert to ISO”<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n

    Under the “Conversion options” section, clear all the options. (These options will increase the time to complete the ISO creation.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Click the “Create download package”<\/strong> button to save the tool on your device.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Open the zip folder with File Explorer.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Click the Extract all<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

    Select the location to extract the files.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Click the Extract<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Right-click the uup_download_windows.cmd<\/strong> batch file and select the Run as administrator<\/strong><\/a> option.<\/p>\n

    Click the More info<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Click the\u00a0“Run anyway”<\/strong> button to begin the lengthy<\/span>\u00a0process.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Press the “R”<\/strong> key to run the script once, and then press Enter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  20. \n

    Press the 0<\/strong> key when prompted to close the screen.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Once you complete the steps, the Windows 11 ISO file\u00a0will be created inside the folder where you extracted the UUP Dump tool. You can now use the ISO file to upgrade a testing virtual machine to the latest preview of Windows 11.
