If you have Windows 11 Home, you have to use the <strong>&#8220;device encryption&#8221;<\/strong> feature (if available).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/tag\/windows-11\">Windows 11<\/a>, you can enable BitLocker in at least three ways to encrypt data on the main installation drive, external storage, or even a USB flash drive using &#8220;BitLocker To Go.&#8221; In this guide, I will show you how.<\/p>\n<p>BitLocker is a security feature that encrypts a drive to protect your data from unauthorized access to your documents, pictures, and any other data on the computer. The feature is available on Windows 11 Pro, Enterprise, and Education. While it&#8217;s not part of the Home edition, Windows 11 still provides <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/enable-bitlocker-device-encryption-windows-11-home\/\"><strong>device encryption<\/strong><\/a> for specific devices, such as Surface Pro, Laptop, and others that meet the minimum requirements.<\/p>\n<p>When encryption is enabled on the drive, all data is scrambled using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm. Since you can&#8217;t install Windows 11 on a device without TPM, it&#8217;s no longer necessary to check or configure the security feature.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u00a0<span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; However, depending on the data available on the drive, BitLocker will continue to encrypt the used space in the background.<\/p>\n<p>If you used the Microsoft account option to save the BitLocker recovery key, you can later find the keys in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/account.microsoft.com\/devices\/recoverykey?refd=support.microsoft.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">device BitLocker recovery keys section<\/a><\/strong> of your account.<\/p>\n<p>You can <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/disable-suspend-bitlocker-windows-11\/\">disable BitLocker on Windows 11<\/a><\/strong> if you no longer need the feature or are performing a task that can cause problems, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/dual-boot-ubuntu-windows-10\/\">setting up a
