Prompt<\/h2>\n<p>To disable Fast Startup from Command Prompt (or PowerShell) on Windows 11, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Open <strong>Start<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Search for <strong>Command Prompt<\/strong> (or <strong>PowerShell<\/strong>), right-click the top result, and select the <strong>Run as administrator<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Type the following command to disable Fast Startup on Windows 11 and press <strong>Enter<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<pre>powercfg \/h off<\/pre>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" enable the feature again with the same instructions, but in step 3, run the\u00a0 <code>powercfg \/h on<\/code> command.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to note that this command will work in Command Prompt as well as in PowerShell since PowerShell doesn&#8217;t include a specific command to turn Fast Startup on or off.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"disable_faststartup_gpedit_windows11\">Disable Fast Startup on Windows 11 from Group Policy<\/h2>\n<p>To disable Fast Startup from Group Policy, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Open <strong>Start<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Search for\u00a0<strong>gpedit.msc<\/strong>, and click the top result to open\u00a0the <strong>Local Group Policy Editor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Browse the following path:<\/p>\n<pre>Computer Configuration &gt; Administrative Templates &gt; System &gt; Shutdown<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Double-click the <strong>&#8220;Require use of fast startup&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0policy.<\/p>\n<p><img Windows 11, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Open <strong>Start<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Search for <strong>regedit<\/strong> and click the top result to open the <strong>Registry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Navigate to the following path:<\/p>\n<pre>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Session Manager\\Power<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Right-click the <strong>HiberbootEnabled<\/strong> key and select the <strong>Modify<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Change the value from you should only disable Fast Start on Windows 10 or 11 when it is causing problems with updates or conflicting with apps, or when you plan to set up a dual-boot system.
