UPDATED 5\/27\/2025: <\/strong>Google has officially integrated AI-generated answers (known as AI Overviews<\/strong>) into its search results. While there’s no official way to turn this feature off completely, you can<\/strong> apply a simple workaround to minimize or bypass these results in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and other browsers on Windows 11<\/a>, Windows 10, and other platforms (where supported).<\/p>\n

As part of its broader rollout of generative AI across products, Google has introduced a new “Web”<\/strong> filter that displays only traditional search results. When you select this option, you’ll get a clean page with standard blue links to websites and videos, without AI-generated summaries.<\/p>\n

However, there’s a catch:<\/strong> You can’t set this “Web”<\/strong> view as the default page in the browser. Instead, you must click the “Web” filter<\/a> manually each time, and it’s hidden under the “More”<\/strong> menu, which adds friction to the experience.<\/p>\n

But here’s the good news:<\/strong> You can use a workaround to either make this filter your default or, at the very least, streamline access to it, restoring a more classic search experience with just links, no AI.<\/p>\n
