Meta’s Threads new social network (a new aim to take on Twitter) has finally launched on July 6, and in this guide, you’ll learn the steps to download the app on your phone and sign up for the service.<\/p>\n

According to the company<\/a>, Threads is a new social media platform for sharing text updates and engaging in public conversations. Essentially, this is another Twitter since it describes everything that Twitter does.<\/p>\n

Although Threads is similar to Twitter, Threads doesn’t have a website. Instead, to access the service, you have to install the dedicated app available through the Google Play Store for Android devices and Apple AppStore for iPhone devices. Also, the app was designed by the Instagram team, which means that your Threads account is linked to your Instagram account.<\/p>\n

This guide<\/a> will teach you the easy steps to sign up and access the new Threads social network from Meta. (You can also use these instructions to install the Threads app on Windows 11<\/a><\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

Install and Sign up for Threads on Android or iPhone<\/h2>\n

To sign up for Threads on Android (or iPhone), use these steps:<\/p>\n

    Open Google Play Store<\/strong><\/a> (or Apple AppStore<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Search for “Threads, an Instagram app”<\/strong> and choose the app from the result.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Click the Install<\/strong> button from Google Play Store (or Apple AppStore) to get the app.<\/p>\n

    Click the Open<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Sign in with your Instagram<\/strong> account.<\/p>\n

    Confirm your Threads username, bio, link, and profile info.<\/p>\n

    Click the Continue<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Choose the privacy option, including “Public profile”<\/strong> to allow anyone to interface with you, like on Twitter, or “Private profile”<\/strong> to interact only with people that follow you.<\/p>\n

    Choose some of the suggestions accounts to follow.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Click the Join Threads<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Once you complete the steps, you can use these instructions<\/strong> to start tweeting (I mean threading)<\/a> text messages and join other conversations.<\/p>\n

    The only caveat with this service is that Meta will delete your Instagram account if you try to delete your Threads account. As such, make sure you want to use the new service before joining. In the future, the company is expected to roll out new features<\/strong><\/a>, including an option to delete the Threads account only.
