(These instructions are focused on the web version of the email service, but the experience is the same across the experience.)<\/p>\n<h4>What&#8217;s Copilot in Outlook?<\/h4>\n<p>Copilot is a chatbot AI assistant that uses large language models (LLMs) to help you boost your productivity when composing and managing emails.<\/p>\n<p>In Outlook, Copilot can generate drafts of emails with a simple prompt, summarize email threads by pulling the most important points of each email, and review your email to provide suggestions to improve it.<\/p>\n<p>The chatbot AI in Outlook is a premium feature, meaning that you will need a subscription for <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/get-copilot-pro-subscription\/\">Copilot Pro<\/a> in addition to a <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/microsoft-365-personal-vs-microsoft-365-family-features-pricing\/\">Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription<\/a>. Also, the feature is only available for the primary mailbox, and it&#8217;s not supported on mailboxes from Exchange Online.<\/p>\n<p>In this <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/tag\/how-to\">guide<\/a>, I will outline the steps to use Copilot in Outlook for <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/tag\/windows-11\">Windows 11<\/a> and where supported. (<a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/use-copilot-word\/\">Copilot is also available in Word<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<h2>How to use Copilot in Outlook<\/h2>\n<p>Copilot in Outlook allows you to summarize emails, generate drafts, and get coaching help. Here&#8217;s how<\/p>\n<h3>Create new email drafts<\/h3>\n<p>To use Copilot to create draft emails in Outlook, use these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Open <strong>Outlook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click on <strong>Home<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click the <strong>New<\/strong> button to start the email composer.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click the <strong>Message<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click the <strong>Copilot<\/strong> button and choose the &#8220;Draft with Copilot&#8221; it.<\/p>\n<p>The draft feature doesn&#8217;t have a limit on the length of the prompt. However, the AI will scan the message or email threads for replies to generate a response, but there&#8217;s a limit on how deep the chatbot can process on long threads.<\/p>\n<h3>Create email replies<\/h3>\n<p>To use Copilot to reply to messages in Outlook, use these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Open <strong>Outlook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Choose the email to reply from the Inbox pane.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click the <strong>Reply<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Choose one of the Copilot suggestions for the reply or click the <strong>Custom<\/strong> emails<\/h3>\n<p>To use Copilot to summarize emails in Outlook, use these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Open <strong>Outlook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Choose the email from the Inbox pane.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click the <strong>&#8220;Summary by Copilot&#8221;<\/strong> option at the top of the email.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
