It helps extend a device&#8217;s battery life and reduces energy usage on computers without a battery.<\/p>\n<p>The feature is based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/enable-battery-saver-windows-11\/\">legacy &#8220;Battery Saver&#8221;<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/change-power-mode-windows-11\/\">&#8220;Power mode,&#8221;<\/a> meaning that the new feature combines both modes to extend battery life and reduce energy consumption by trading off system performance.<\/p>\n<p>When turning on the feature, Windows 11 will use a power mode that is best for efficiency and turn off specific features (such as fancy visual effects like transparency) and background services. It will also lower the screen brightness since the display usually uses the most energy.<\/p>\n<p>In this <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/tag\/how-to\">guide<\/a>, I will outline how to enable the energy-saving feature on Windows 11 version 24H2 and higher releases.<\/p>\n<h2>Enable Energy Saver on Windows 11<\/h2>\n<p>You can enable and configure Energy Saver in two ways, depending on the device&#8217;s hardware.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>For PCs with battery<\/h3>\n<p>To enable Energy Saver on laptops or desktops with battery backup, use these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Open <strong>Settings<\/strong> on Windows 11.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click on <strong>System<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click the <strong>Power &amp; battery<\/strong> page.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click the <strong>Energy Saver<\/strong> setting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>(Option 1) Specify the battery level to enable the energy-saving feature automatically. <\/strong>(without battery) or <strong>&#8220;leafs + battery&#8221;<\/strong> (with battery) icon that appears in the System Tray.<\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t find the option, you will have to scroll down the page since the Quick Settings interface has been updated with the release of version 24H2.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to note that while &#8220;Battery Saver&#8221; is no longer available in the operating system, &#8220;Power mode&#8221; is still a feature. However, you can only use it when &#8220;Energy Saver&#8221; is disabled.<\/p>\n<h3>Other energy saver tips\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>In addition to this feature, you can extend your computer&#8217;s battery life and reduce power consumption by adjusting some settings. For example, you can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/enable-dark-mode-windows-11\/\">Switch to the &#8220;Dark&#8221; color mode<\/a>, including setting a dark wallpaper for the desktop.<\/li>\n<li>Set a shorter time when the screen should turn off.<\/li>\n<li>Lower the time of inactivity before <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/change-sleep-times-windows-11\/\">putting the computer to sleep<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/enable-hibernate-windows-11\/\">Turning on and using hibernation<\/a> instead of sleep.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/change-brightness-windows-11\/\">Changing the screen brightness<\/a> manually to a lower level.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/disable-startup-apps-windows-11\/\">Disable startup apps<\/a> to prevent them from running in the background.<\/li>\n<li>You can also use these <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/power-efficient-settings-in-windows-11-0d6a2b6b-2e87-4611-9980-ac9ea2175734\">Microsoft energy recommendations<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Energy Saver is one of the many features and changes available with <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/windows-11-24h2-new-features\/\">version 24H2<\/a>. As part of this release, Microsoft will be rolling out many new features, especially features focusing on AI, including <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/whats-super-resolution-windows-11-enable\/\">Super Resolution<\/a>, Voice Clarity, Speak to Me, and <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/microsoft-new-ai-explorer-app-windows-11\/\">AI Explorer<\/a>.
