It&#8217;s particularly useful when you&#8217;re on vacation, out of the office, or simply unavailable to respond to emails promptly.<\/p>\n<p>The feature works identically to automatic replies from the web version of Outlook. Actually, when setting up automated messages on the app for your Outlook account, the settings will also apply to the web version. In the same way, if you follow these instructions on the web experience, it will apply to the Outlook app for the operating system.<\/p>\n<p>In this <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/tag\/how-to\">guide<\/a>, I will explain the steps to configure automatic replies in the Outlook app for Windows 11, but the instructions will also work on <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/tag\/windows-10\">Windows 10<\/a> and for the web version of Outlook.<\/p>\n<h2>Set up automatic replies (out of office) in Outlook<\/h2>\n<p>To enable and configure automatic replies in Outlook, use these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Open the <strong>Outlook<\/strong> app for Windows 11.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click the <strong>Settings<\/strong> button from the top-right.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click on <strong>Accounts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click the <strong>Automatic replies<\/strong> page.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Select the email account you want to configure.<\/p>\n<div id=\"tip-box\"><span><strong>Quick note:<\/strong> This feature is only supported on specific providers, such as Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com, and other services like Gmail are not supported.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Turn on the <strong>&#8220;automatic replies&#8221;<\/strong> toggle switch.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-174387\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pureinfotech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/new-outlook-app-automatic-replies-setup.webp?resize=827%2C733&#038;quality=78&#038;strip=all&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Outlook app enable automatic replies\" width=\"827\" height=\"733\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pureinfotech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/new-outlook-app-automatic-replies-setup.webp?w=1024&amp;quality=78&amp;strip=all&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pureinfotech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/new-outlook-app-automatic-replies-setup.webp?resize=300%2C266&amp;quality=78&amp;strip=all&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pureinfotech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/new-outlook-app-automatic-replies-setup.webp?resize=647%2C574&amp;quality=78&amp;strip=all&amp;ssl=1 647w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pureinfotech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/new-outlook-app-automatic-replies-setup.webp?resize=150%2C133&amp;quality=78&amp;strip=all&amp;ssl=1 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 827px) 100vw, 827px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>\n<p>(Optional) Check the <strong>&#8220;Send replies only during a time period&#8221;<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Choose the <strong>start<\/strong> and <strong>end<\/strong> times to send messages automatically.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Select the options that best apply to your scenario: <strong>&#8220;Block my calendar for this period,&#8221; &#8220;Automatically decline new invitations for events that occur during this period,&#8221;<\/strong> and <strong>&#8220;Decline and cancel my meetings during this period.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Compose the message you want others to receive when they send you emails.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>(Optional) Check the <strong>&#8220;Send replies only to contacts&#8221;<\/strong> option to prevent replies to everyone else.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click the <strong>Save<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Once you complete the steps, whenever you receive a new message, Outlook will reply automatically to your message while you&#8217;re off the office or traveling.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to note that you don&#8217;t have to leave your computer turned on with the Outlook app open for the feature to work. Since the email client integrates with the Outlook service, the setting will be saved on your Microsoft account in the cloud.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to disable automatic replies, open <strong>Outlook Settings<\/strong> &gt;
