The option will then appear as <strong>&#8220;fTPM&#8221; (firmware-based TPM 2.0)<\/strong>, <strong>&#8220;AMD PSP fTPM&#8221;<\/strong> or <strong>&#8220;AMD fTPM switch.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If the device is an Intel-based system, TPM 2.0 will be available as <strong>&#8220;Intel Platform Trust Technology&#8221; or &#8220;<\/strong><strong style=\"font-size: 1.2rem;\">Intel PTT<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.2rem;\">.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If the computer does not have a TPM option and this is a custom build, you may be able to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/ASUS-MOTHERBOARDS-Module-System-Components\/dp\/B08836SG1X\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>purchase a module<\/strong><\/a> to add the support. However, you should consult the manufacturer&#8217;s website to confirm that support is available.<\/p>\n<h3>Legacy BIOS to UEFI consideration<\/h3>\n<p>If you have a computer running <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/tag\/windows-10\">Windows 10<\/a> but uses the legacy BIOS (Basic Input\/Output System), you will have to switch the firmware type to UEFI to enable the TPM 2.0 feature.<\/p>\n<p>However, in this case, the current setup may be configured with the MBR (Master Boot Record) partition table, while UEFI requires a GPT (GUID Partition Table) configuration.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If this is your case, you&#8217;ll\u00a0<span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">need to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/convert-mbr-drive-gpt-enable-uefi-secure-boot-windows-11\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">convert the partition table from MBR to GPT<\/a> on your Windows 10 installation, then switch from legacy BIOS to UEFI.
