Another preview of Windows 11<\/a> (build 26200.5562) is now rolling out in the Dev Channel as the update KB5055642. This new release brings new features to the existing AI experience, including Click to Do and Windows Search.<\/p>\n

As usual, this preview build<\/a> also includes other improvements and fixes for File Explorer, Widgets, Windows Security, the Settings app, Start menu, Task Manager, and more.<\/p>\n

Windows 11 build 26200.5562 (Dev)<\/h2>\n

These are the new features and changes rolling out with the update KB5055642 in the Dev Channel:<\/p>\n

Click to Do new reading features<\/h3>\n

Starting with this release, Click to Do gets two new features, including “Practice in Reading Coach” and “Read with Immersive Reader.”<\/p>\n

The “Practice in Reading Coach”<\/strong> option allows the system to provide feedback when reading a loud selected text.<\/p>\n

If this feature isn’t available, you can turn it on manually by running the vivetool \/enable \/id:55708620<\/code> command with the ViveTool<\/a> (via @PhantomOfEarth<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The “Read with Immersive Reader”<\/strong> option shows recognized text in a clutter-free interface to focus on the reading, similar to the immersive reading experience in the web browser.<\/p>\n

In addition, you can change the text size, spacing, font, or background theme. You can also have the text read out loud, use syllable breaks to split words, and highlight nouns, verbs, and adjectives to aid grammar learning. Furthermore, the picture dictionary option provides visual representations of unfamiliar words.<\/p>\n

These features also require the installation of the Microsoft Reading Coach app<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Also, these new AI features are available for ARM Copilot+ PCs, but Microsoft says that AMD and Intel Copilot+ PCs will get them soon.<\/p>\n

Semantic Indexing for EEA<\/h3>\n

On build 26200.5562, the company notes users in the European Economic Area will be able to find photos in the cloud using natural language through the search box in the Taskbar as part of the Semantic Indexing feature for Windows Search.<\/p>\n

In addition, pictures stored locally on the computer will also show in search results, as well as exact keyword matches for cloud searches.<\/p>\n

The new search capability is gradually rolling out for ARM Copilot+ PCs, but Microsoft says that AMD and Intel Copilot+ PCs will get it soon.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, as part of the search improvements, the “Search permissions”<\/strong> settings page includes an option to disable search for content saved in the cloud for Copilot+ PCs. Currently, it only works for the search box in the Taskbar, but it’ll eventually expand to the File Explorer.<\/p>\n

Voice Access custom dictionary<\/h3>\n

Windows 11 also introduces the ability to add custom words to the dictionary for Voice Access, including words that are difficult to pronounce, to help improve dictation accuracy.<\/p>\n

You can add new words to the dictionary after using the\u00a0<\/span>“Spell that,”<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>“Correct that,”<\/strong> or using the “Add to Vocabulary”<\/strong> command.<\/span>\u00a0In addition, there’s a new “Add to Vocabulary”<\/strong> entry in the main settings menu.<\/p>\n

Voice Access can announce new features and improvements to help you discover and learn more about the experience.<\/p>\n

Finally, the Quick Settings flyout for Accessibility now includes an entry to enable or disable Voice Access from the Taskbar.<\/p>\n

If these features are not available on your AI-capable computer, you can run the vivetool \/enable \/id:56305056,56724497<\/code> command using the ViveTool to enable them manually.<\/p>\n

File Explorer new tab on existing window<\/h3>\n

Windows 11 build 26200.5562 also pushes an update for File Explorer that allows it to open new tabs triggered outside of the app in the window instead of opening a new instance.<\/p>\n

You can control this feature from File Explorer<\/strong> > Folder Options<\/strong> > General<\/strong> > Browse Folders<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Windows Security with TPM details<\/h3>\n

On Windows Security<\/strong> > Device security<\/strong> > Security processors details<\/strong>, the system will be able to show the manufacturer and versions for the Pluton TPM module.<\/p>\n

Rename printer name UI update<\/h3>\n

On Settings<\/strong> > Bluetooth & devices<\/strong> > Printers & scanners<\/strong>, when changing the printer name<\/a>, the dialog now shows up with a modern design that matches the Windows 11 style.<\/p>\n
