{"id":178747,"date":"2025-07-07T08:00:41","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T12:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/?p=178747"},"modified":"2025-09-10T10:19:13","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T14:19:13","slug":"windows-11-25h2-debloat-option-remove-default-apps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/windows-11-25h2-debloat-option-remove-default-apps\/","title":{"rendered":"Windows 11 25H2 comes with a debloat option to remove default apps"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"sum\">\n<li>Microsoft is introducing a new Group Policy on Windows 11 25H2, called <strong>&#8220;Remove Default Microsoft Store packages from the system,&#8221;<\/strong> which allows Pro and higher editions to uninstall most pre-installed apps during setup automatically.<\/li>\n<li>This option is not available through the Settings app or on Home editions, and it only targets Microsoft Store apps, not third-party promotional software (as far as I can tell).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Microsoft is quietly adding an option to remove most of the applications that <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/tag\/windows-11\">Windows 11<\/a> bundles by default during the installation in the <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/kb5060838-build-26200-5670-windows-11-25h2\/\">latest preview release of version 25H2<\/a>. I have also checked the Group Policy Editor for version 24H2, and the policy isn&#8217;t available for this release. However, the policy is present in the latest Insider Preview build from the Beta Channel, which is available for version 24H2. Additionally, the policy will only apply and run when creating a new account. Instead, the operating system could offer a post-setup interface that lets users choose which apps to install based on their preferences.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft could easily implement this by introducing a dedicated page in the Microsoft Store app that launches automatically during or immediately after the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE), allowing users to have complete control over the initial app selection process.<\/p>\n    <div class=\"responsive-youtube-container\">\n        <iframe\n            src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RlQrQtAmp1w?rel=0&showinfo=0\"\n            frameborder=\"0\"\n            allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\"\n            allowfullscreen\n            loading=\"lazy\"\n        ><\/iframe>\n    <\/div>\n<p>The company is already in the development process of version 25H2, which is expected to become available sometime in the fall of 2025.
