{"id":182042,"date":"2025-11-11T13:02:03","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T18:02:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/?p=182042"},"modified":"2025-12-19T07:02:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T12:02:13","slug":"kb5068861-windows-11-november-2025-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/kb5068861-windows-11-november-2025-update\/","title":{"rendered":"KB5068861 (build 26200.7171) for Windows 11 drops as the November 2025 update"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"sum\">\n<li>Windows 11 builds 26100.7171 and 26200.7171 (KB5068861) are now available for versions 24H2 and 25H2, introducing a range of new features and changes.<\/li>\n<li>Some of these changes include a new Start menu design, battery percentage, and improvements for Click to Do, File Explorer Home, and more.<\/li>\n<li>These changes are rolling out <strong>gradually<\/strong>, and Microsoft can always <strong>delay or cancel<\/strong> any of these improvements at any time.<\/li>\n<li>Windows 11 23H2 build 22631.6199 (KB5068865) is also available as the last <b>security update for this release.<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Microsoft is delaying File Explorer recommendations, but it&#8217;ll become available again in future releases. <strong>\u2013 UPDATED 11\/10.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>UPDATED 11\/14\/2025:<\/strong> Microsoft is rolling out\u00a0<span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\"><strong>Windows 11 build 26200.7171 (KB5068861)<\/strong>\u00a0for version 25H2 and\u00a0<strong>build 26100.7171<\/strong> with the same knowledge number for version 24H2 in the Stable Channel, as an optional install,<\/span>\u00a0as part of the November 2025 update.<\/p>\n<p>This non-security release gives us a glimpse of the new features, changes, and fixes coming in the next cumulative update, which includes the Start menu design, battery percentage in Taskbar and Lock Screen, as well as changes for existing experiences, such as File Explorer, Click to Do, and Out-of-box Experience (OOBE).<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft does not reveal the final names of updates intended for the Stable Channel during early development. While in preview, these are labeled as non-security updates. The official name, such as the <strong>&#8220;November 2025 Security Update,&#8221;<\/strong> is assigned only after the update is released on Patch Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Also, note that <a href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/windows-11-25h2-vs-24h2\/\">version 25H2 and 24H2<\/a> share the same file system, meaning that they&#8217;re the same operating system. Otherwise, they will remain in the <strong>&#8220;Other&#8221;<\/strong> category.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the grid view orders apps alphabetically, allowing for better scanning of more horizontal real estate.<\/p>\n<p>On larger displays, you can see up to eight columns of apps, four columns for categories, and six recommendations.<\/p>\n<p>Smaller devices may see up to six columns of apps, three columns for categories, and three recommendations.<\/p>\n<p>You can also expand or collapse the &#8220;Pinned&#8221; and &#8220;Recommended&#8221; sections to view some or all the apps.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1.2rem;\">Additionally, the company is introducing the ability to\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 1.2rem;\" href=\"https:\/\/pureinfotech.com\/remove-start-recommended-windows-11\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">remove the &#8220;Recommended&#8221; section<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 1.2rem;\"> by disabling<\/span>\u00a0the &#8220;<strong>Show recently added apps,&#8221; &#8220;Show recommended files in Star,&#8221; &#8220;Show websites from your browsing history,&#8221;<\/strong> and <strong>&#8220;Show recommendations for tips&#8221; <\/strong>settings.
